27th Season of JLK Basketball Comes to a Successful Conclusion

Our 27th Season of JLK Basketball concluded this past Sunday, as such some acknowledgments are in order as well as some notes on what is ahead…

First, thanks to our families for having the confidence and trust to share their daughters with us.  We appreciate their continued faith in us and will continue to work hard to maintain that trust and confidence.  Thanks to our coaches and their families for generously sharing their time and talent with our players.  We maintain that our staff is second to none!  Thanks to our sponsors, as they enable us to provide a first-class experience for our players by providing the necessary resources to go above and beyond.  Thanks to the Alter Girls Basketball Players and Staff for supporting us throughout the year! Finally, thanks to our Board Members, as they support our program in innumerable ways in addition to providing guidance and support as we plan for the future and strive to be better.

Our teams’ improvement from season to season and within the season is impossible to miss.  Our younger team’s improvement has not yet started to manifest itself in the wins and losses columns.  However, this is not unusual.  As they proceed through the next few years that will change as it does for most of our teams.  For our older teams, 5th Grade won the Metro Tournament, 6th Grade won the Metro Regular Season Championship, 7th Grade finished 19-6, and 8th Grade finished 20-7 and concluded with a Dayton City League Tournament Championship.  The future is bright!

So, what is next –

• We are considering supporting participation in a summer league for our younger teams, rising 3rd – 5th Graders.  This decision will be finalized at the Spring Board Meeting.  Check our website and social media for updates
• Our older teams, rising 6th-8th will participate in the South Dayton Junior High Summer League, Goshen Shootout, and hopefully one other event this June.  Sign-ups will be opened in early April.  This will be open to potential new players as well.  Also check back to our website and social media for updates in early April.
• Summer Shooters will return this year in late May.  Look for announcements in early May.
• We intend to have Open Gyms on Sundays in July and August.  Look for announcements in late June.
• Then we start up all over again, Registration in August, Clinic and Evaluations in September…
